Week 12 Reading: Robing Hood, Part B
Robin Hood: Maid Marian
I love the story of Robin Hood and Maid Marian. I'm definitely a sucker for romance but I also love how Maid Marian isn't the typical, medieval "damsel in distress." It makes sense that Robin Hood would like a lady as bold and daring as he is, and it shows why the couple is such a good match!
- Robin Hood and Maid Marian, who is extremely beautiful, meet and fall in love
- They have to be parted and Robin Hood returns to Sherwood Forest
- Maid Marian is super sad and decides to set off to find Robin Hood
- She disguises herself as a man and dresses up in armor
- After a long time of journeying, Maid Marian finds herself in Sherwood Forest
- She runs into Robin Hood, who is disguised, and the two don't recognize each other
- They begin fighting and for over an hour sword fight each other
- Eventually Maid Marian is wounded, but Robin Hood is so impressed that he reveals his true identity and offers her a spot as one of the Merry Men
- Maid Marian is super happy to realize that she has found Robin Hood and she reveals her identity as well
- The couple is super excited and all the Merry Men have a massive feast
- Maid Marian stays to live in Sherwood with the rest of the Merry Men
